About Me

Faith Mayme Pfeifer was born on December 27, 2010 with Spina Bifida. I have been truly inspired and touched by the Pfeifer family and Faith's journey. It is my goal here to run 1,000 miles by Faith's birthday while raising $1,000 for Faith and her family. If you can or want to make a donation, please click on the Give button on the side of the page (you do NOT have to give $50...that number is just defaulted in there). Once you get to the site you get to type in the amount you would like to donate. No donation is too small and I am grateful for all you do in helping me take on this challenge. I will begin this challenge on May 2, 2011 and my completion date will be December 27, 2011.

Slow

Sorry I haven't blogged in a few days again. I've had a lot going on lately so haven't taken the time to blog, but have continued running. Each day gets easier and I am having a blast.

Got two miles in this morning and heading back for a longer run this evening.

Have a great day

Great Day

Although the weather wasn't the best, today was a great day. I was able to get in 4 miles this morning and another 5 this afternoon. Between thinking about Faith and all of your generous donations, the running is getting a lot easier and a heck of a lot more enjoyable. (For those of you who don't know...I'm not much of a fan of running)...but I am beginning to enjoy it.

I definitely need to thank the friends at iMom for their generous donation today. I am simply amazed by everyone's generosity. It is very, very inspiring.

Thank you again for all of your support.

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, the education, the money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, and skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes."

MIA

Sorry I have been MIA. Last week was finals week at school and then I headed back to WaKeeney for some family time this past weekend. I did keep up running for most of it but didn't get it all blogged. So here is to catching up.

I have almost hit 50 miles which is really exciting and feels like a big achievement. I keep trying to picture the distance of how far that really is....from where to where. Even though I haven't run them all at the same time it is still motivating.

But what is even more motivating is the fact that we are now over half way to reaching our $1,000 goal for Faith. I can not even begin to explain how thankful I am to all of the donors. I definitely need to run faster.

I want to thank the Krueger Family and also Kory & Ann Rupp for their donations. Thank you, thank you!

I promise I will blog more frequently again.

Got My Sweat On

I was a slacker yesterday and did not get in any miles....but today was amazing. I ran 5 miles and it felt great.
Afterwards I got conned into doing a spinning class as well. Simply amazing! If you haven't ever tried spinning and get the chance to, I definitely recommend it!!

I want to thank the Marichals for their donation today. All of you who have donated truly make my day. I was bragging to my husband today that we are almost half way to our goal and its only been a week. And then he told me run faster! My miles are taking alot longer to add up, but each one is definitely worth it and I am enjoying each and every one. Thanks again to all of you who have donated. I can't quit smiling. THANK YOU!

Beautiful Evening

Instead of heading back to the gym and hopping on the treadmill, I decided to take the dog for a run outside. We ran three miles before stopping by the fire station to see my husband Kody. It was a nice visit and then we returned home. It was a great evening for an outdoor jog.

Special thanks to our other gracious donors from today: The Kennedy Clan, Auntie Shell, Uncle Jim and Aunt Venice, and Monica Smith.

I also want to thank those of you who have become followers. Because of all of you who are donating and following, I can't quit smiling. Thank you again to all of you.

Thank you!!

I got another two miles in this morning with my workout. If all works out correctly today I plan to get a few more in tonight. I want to give a very special thanks to Drake, Tray, Par, and Cruz for making our very first donation !!

Late Start

My plan was to make it to the gym at 5:00 a.m. like I usually do, but I stayed up a tad too late last night and bed just kept calling my name, so unfortunately I didn't make it. But I did make it in there tonight and ran three miles. It felt really good.  I could have made it farther but needed to get home at a decent time so I could get the rest of my stuff done and to bed so I can make it at 5 tomorrow.

Big Day

Tomorrow is the big day. I will begin my journey of running 1,000 miles for Faith! They money that is raised will go directly to Faith and her family. They will be mailed a check for the amount raised when this fundraiser closes. Right now it is set to close on October 28, only because it would not let me go out any further, but I am working with the fundraising site to get that date changed to Faith's birthday. The Pfeifer's have stated that the money raised from this will be used to help Faith. If there is some that is not needed, it will be given to an organization to help people like Faith. Thanks again for any donation you can give and for following the journey.
